Don Leo Wine Dinner

WEDNESDAY, JULY 30
6 PM RECEPTION - 6:30 PM SEATED DINNER
Join us for an extraordinary evening celebrating the bold elegance of Mexican wine with Don Leo Winery. Nestled in the high-altitude valleys of Coahuila, Don Leo has gained international recognition for crafting world-class wines—including the remarkable honor of producing the Best Cabernet Sauvignon in the World at the Concours International des Cabernets in France.
The story began in 1938, when Don Leo Mendel immigrated from Linnich, Germany, to Mexico escaping war. Settling into agricultural life, he cultivated a deep love for the land—a passion he passed down through generations.
In 2000, his son and grandson Arturo and David Mendel founded Vinos Don Leo, honoring their father and grandfather by naming the winery after him. What began on a single hectare evolved into approximately 60 hectares of vineyards at over 2,100 meters elevation, home to 12 grape varieties and two premium lines: Don Leo and Linde—the latter named in homage to Don Leo’s beloved wife.
Among their many accolades, Don Leo Gran Reserva 2013 was named the Best Cabernet Sauvignon in the World at the 2020 Concours International des Cabernets. At this dinner, we are proud to serve the 2015 vintage of this exceptional wine. David Mendel will join us for the dinner and guide us through each pairing.
